Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21).
If you accept prophetic utterances as valid for today, I would encourage you to test them in the following ways.
It is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise Ephesians 1:13
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29).
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honour (Romans 12:10).
A pastor came to see me one day asking, "How can I get out of my church?" "Why do you want out?" I asked him. "What's wrong with your church?" "I've got a bunch of losers in my church." "Losers? I wonder if they are really losers or if they just see themselves as losers because that's how you see them." He agreed that it was probably the latter. And he was right, because there are no losers in the kingdom of God, none whatsoever.
To those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours (1 Corinthians 1:2).
Forgive your brother from your heart (Matthew 18:35 NIV).
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has also forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32).
Most of the ground that Satan gains in the lives of Christians is due to unforgiveness. We are warned to forgive others so that Satan cannot take advantage of us (2 Corinthians 2:10,11). God requires us to forgive others from our hearts or He will turn us over to the tormentors (Matthew 18:34,35).
You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works (James 2:18).
