Leadership for the Long Haul

Start the New Year as you mean to go one, with our Leadership Retreat designed as a follow-up to Freed To Lead, specifically focussed on equipping us for leadership for the long-haul. Here are the details:

 

Monday 26th - Thursday 29th January 2026 at High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon

Led by Rod Woods, author of Freed To Lead, and Rob Davies, Executive Director of Freedom In Christ UK.

The retreat will build on the key themes in Freed To Lead, and will include new teaching, Q&A, and times for retreat and reflection. We'll look at Disarming Disappointment, Leading to Health, and Leading for the Long Haul - when it just feels like you're hitting the wall - amongst other topics!

Freedom Talk: Helping Hurting People Heal

Join us on 29th September at 12.30pm on Zoom with other leaders for a special online Freedom Talk. This September, Sue Lindsay, Director of Training, joins us to discuss “Helping Hurting People Heal”.

Sue will be looking at how we journey and disciple those who are struggling with lifes challenges which seem to stop them walking in, or fully grasping their freedom In Christ. We will see how we can positively help using our tools, whatever the reason they’re struggling. What Sue will share will come from what we’ve learned through the Scriptures as well as from our experience as a ministry over many years. We'll have some time for Q&A at the end.

Just launched! The new Grace Course app is the perfect companion to Freedom In Christ’s "New Grace Course".

Bringing everything you need into one easily accessible space, the app allows course participants to navigate all supporting content effortlessly—no need to jump between websites.

The course itself is available via Freedom Stream, while the app serves as a one-stop hub for all additional resources. This is an essential tool for participants to find everything they need at the touch of a button.

Equipping Kenyan Leaders Through God’s Grace

In June, the Freedom In Christ team in Kenya shared their vision to train local leaders with the Freed To Lead course, a discipleship journey designed to help leaders step fully into the roles God has prepared for them.

Thanks to the generosity of our Friends of FIC, we were able to provide the books they needed to get started. But, there was just one more challenge: getting the resources to them!

Through prayer, perseverance, and God’s grace, the box of books successfully made it through customs, ready to equip the next generation of Kenyan leaders!

This is more than just sending books - it’s about empowering leaders to transform their communities, one disciple at a time.

Richard's Personal Endurance Update

Just a quick update, Richard wrapped up his training last weekend. On Thursday night, he practiced his night running with a 10-mile stretch on part of the course. Despite the heat on Friday morning, he pushed through another 12 miles on a different section. That evening, he took on a particularly tough part of the route he's struggled with in the past and completed 8 miles!

Now, he's got two weeks ahead to focus on recovery and strength-building, with some light running mixed in to stay sharp and ready!

Richard's Story...

I'm 63 years old, and originally from South Africa. I moved to the UK 30 years ago, and my journey into running, particularly trail running and ultras, started surprisingly late, in my 50s! Before that, I wasn't really a sports person, but I've truly fallen in love with hitting the trails.

For me, trail running is about more than just physical exertion. It's an incredible way to explore remote, beautiful places...

Equip Kenyan Leaders for Change

As part of our commitment to Go Wider, Deeper, and more Global, we're excited to announce an exciting initiative to invest in the next generation of leaders in Kenya.

Across the country, 120 leaders are eager to go through the Freed to Lead course - a discipleship course that will help them become the leader God has created them to be!

Kenya FIC have the vision! They just don't have the funds to access the resources!

That’s where you come in.

We want to sponsor all 120 leaders with the Freed to Lead books they need to complete the course. We will cover the logistics to get the books to them. All we’re asking is if you would consider helping us cover the cost of a book or two?

  • £20 = 1 leader equipped

  • £100 = 5 leaders empowered

This is more than a campaign. It's a calling to Go Global not by exporting programs, but by equipping local...
