After nearly five years of waiting and steadfast prayer, Tim and Monique Baynes Clarke, our FICM Representatives for France, are now established in the village of Soucelles - near Angers in the North-West of the country.
In our newsletter last year, we asked for £25,000, the sum needed to send Tim and Monique to France. We were incredibly blessed by the Lord in the end, as around £35,000 came in!
At the end of August, Steve Goss and Mike Benford (our board chairman) accompanied Tim and Monique to Soucelles with a van full of their belongings.
Before leaving they were able to pray with Tim and Monique, anoint them for their calling and pray together over the draft translation of the French version of the FIC Discipleship Course.
Tim and Monique have made some great links in the area and have a publisher really keen to work with them. The translated Discipleship Course is currently being tested in churches.
Prayer for good contacts is certainly being answered, and as a result of Tim and Monique attending an 'Evangelical Fair' in Paris (where they did some great networking and visiting the stands of about 200 Christian organisations), they had over 30 sets of links with some very significant people, and others they think will become so.
It's been a real battle but we always knew that this would finally happen. Our thanks to everyone who has supported Tim and Monique with prayer, encouragement and finance.
