| FICM UK's RSS Newsfeed Freedom In Christ UK's RSS newsfeed is available now for RSS-equipped newsreaders and browsers, and for adding our news headlines to existing websites.  What is it? RDF Site Summary (RSS) - which can also be referred to as Rich Site Summary, or even Really Simple Syndication - is a method of describing content that is available for syndicating/subscribing from an online publication to other web users. To identify if a newsfeed is available look out for the RSS or XML logo on the host's website. If you see one, then a feed is availble for you to use.The benefit of RSS is that you will see the latest news right away without having to check back on the site. If a new headline is available you will see it instantly in your RSS browser or news reader (or on your website). What do I need? To use RSS you will need a RSS news reader such as NetNewsWire by Ranchero for the Mac and FeedDemon by Bradbury Software for the PC. Alternatively there are plug-ins for e-mail programs such as Microsoft Outlook. Some new internet browsers like Safari RSS, have RSS news readers built in and allow you an easy way to subscribe and read newsfeeds from different websites in your browser. Safari RSS actually gives you direct control over the newsfeed, so you can view as much or as little of the news stories as you want. The Firefox browser can also subscribe to RSS feeds. It adds them to your bookmarks, and instead of placing a single URL, it places all the latest news titles for you to click and read. The titles update as and when the newsfeed updates. RSS also allows you to display our newsfeed in your webpages, just like it is displayed in our news section and homepage. When our RSS feed is updated, the webpages instantly display the new information without any user interaction. All we ask is that if you use the feed from our site on your site, please let us know and please state that the news comes from FICM UK. We’ll also provide a logo on request.
