The Grace Course

Registration is closed for this event

1 June 2012 to 2 June 2012

The very first public conference to feature The Grace Course, a brand new resource to be launched internationally in October by Monarch.

Originally this event was to feature Neil Anderson teaching the core Freedom In Christ message. Unfortunately Neil has had to cancel his trip to the UK because of the illness of a close family member. Please pray for Neil.

Steve Goss and Rich Miller have stepped into the breach. Steve says, "We thought about teaching what Neil was going to teach but we reckon people will prefer us to teach the brand new Grace Course. We weren't going to teach it in a public conference until after its launch in October but it seems appropriate to do it now. And we're really looking forward to it!"

Here are some comments from people who have attended pilot events during testing of the new material that is designed to complement The Freedom In Christ Discipleship Course:

"Very stimulating, truly challenging"

"Brilliant and enlightening"

"Each week God has clearly spoken into my situation."

"Wonderful revelation on grace"

"Very exciting. I have been heard again the truth of God's love for me and have been able to identify misconceptions and false beliefs."

"Refreshing"

"I really loved it"

Most of us Christians know that salvation is by grace through faith, and that there is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. But when it comes to day-to-day living, many of us end up trying to act like we think Christians should act but never quite managing it. We conclude that we’ll never be ‘good enough’ or ‘do it right’. Our joy evaporates and we finish up stressed out, burned out or fed up.

The Grace Course helps us realise that God’s grace was not just for the moment we were first saved but for every moment of every day. It helps us understand just what it means to be God’s child, receive assurance that we are perfectly acceptable to God no matter what’s in the past, and deal comprehensively with the hindrances that prevent us walking in the fullness of God’s grace every day.

The end result is that we will enter into God’s rest, where we live for God, not because we feel we have to but because we really love Him. And we’ll bear fruit that will last. Not through trying harder but through His grace.

There are 6 sessions:

1. Free!

We all know that we are saved by faith through grace alone. But when it comes to living out our Christian lives, it’s easy to slip into thinking that it comes down to obeying a set of rules or living up to certain standards. But God is not looking for slaves who obey because they have to but wants to free us to rest in His grace so that we serve Him because we really want to.

2. Innocent!

Many of God’s people struggle with a low-grade fever of guilt which makes us “act like we think a Christian should act”. Understanding that we have been declared not guilty once and for all brings us back to a real relationship with God where we can be ourselves and do what we do purely out of love.

3. Unashamed!

Past experiences, what others say and seeming unable to break free of sin can leave us feeling that there is something fundamentally wrong with us. The truth is that we have become completely new people who can break the cycle of returning time and again to the same old sin issue and who in Christ measure up in full to God’s righteous demands.

4. Courageous!

Our God is an awesome God. But His children can come boldly into His presence without a hint of fear – we are absolutely secure and safe. And if this God is for us, who can be against us? We need fear no one and nothing!

5. Humble!

In the Old Testament, God gave His people His Laws. When Jesus came, He stated plainly that He had not come to do away with the Law but to fulfil it. If we understand how this works, we will resist the temptation to set ourselves up as nit-picking “guardians of the truth” but will be guided by the Law that is now written on our hearts. We will humble ourselves before God and before each other and work for unity in the Body of Christ.

6. Fruitful!

When we feel ground down and exhausted, Jesus makes us an astonishing offer: a light yoke and an easy burden. And He really means it! It seems a paradox but genuinely fruitful ministry that will have value for eternity comes only when we enter into that rest and learn to depend completely on Him.
