A special 3 hour meeting with Revive Rugby where we introduce the FIC principles for discipleship and unpack opportunities for discipling the 18-30s generation.

A church with growing, fruitful disciples of Jesus is a growing, fruitful church that is making an impact in its community. Understanding how to make fruitful disciples, not just converts, of every generation is a critical challenge for church leaders.

Historically discipleship has been seen as “teaching Christians to behave in the right way”. But just “trying harder” leads to joyless legalism. In every one of his letters to the churches, the Apostle Paul does not tell us  a single thing about how to behave or what to do until the second half of the letter. Why? In the first half, he helps us understand who we now are and what we have in Christ. When we know that, the rest follows: we live for God not because we feel we have to but because we know Him and love Him.

Young adults - those in their 20s and 30s - are often called "the missing generation" in our churches. An overwelming number of church leaders consider reaching this generation their top, or joint top, priority. But only 11% think they have the understanding and the resources to do it.

At FIC, we want to change that. We know that our "identity-based discipleship" is highly effective. Jesus' call to radical, fruitful discipleship is as irrestistable to this generation as it ever was. But there are significant cultural and communication challenges which need to be overcome if we are to see those in their 18-30s established free and walking in fruitfulness.

You and other leaders in your church are warmly invited to this special 3 hour event with Revive Rugby where we'll outline our three core principles for establishing a church-wide discipleship strategy with particular focus on those in their 18-30s, introduce you to the challenges and opportunities faced by this generation (which are covered in more detail through our discipleship challenge workshop), and showcase our core tool for discipleship for this age group - disciple
