Profiles: Brian Nicholson
God has placed Brian in a very full time job as rector of Oakley, a suburb just West of Basingstoke which calls itself a village! He’s been ordained for over 30 years and has served in Canford Magna near Wimborne, East Twickenham and St. John’s, Colchester. Together with his wife Hilary, their roots are in the charismatic movement, New Wine and John Wimber.
They encountered Freedom in Christ in 2003, taking the church through it in 2004. They have found the teaching and practice a clear and helpful antidote to a tendency to ‘receptive mode’ that had developed. Many in the church have been, and are, greatly blessed through Freedom in Christ, finding that it makes an excellent foundation for life and ministry.
Family life is full, with elderly parents at one end and grandchildren at the other! Brian and Hilary love God’s creation, getting out into open spaces, walking and bird-watching.
