Discipleship Teaching

Introduction

Many Christians have found Freedom In Christ's discipleship teaching life-changing. However, let us add quickly that there is nothing new in this teaching - it is simply an orthodox presentation of the Gospel emphasising the glorious effects that being re-born has in the believer's life.

Time and time again we see it enabling people to start relating the great truths of the Bible to practical daily living in a new way. It is not at all uncommon for Christians to say, "Why didn't anyone tell me this before?" while their Pastor responds, "I've been telling you for years!".

Very many people have found that the new understanding of truth they gained through this teaching was a turning point in their Christian lives.

The teaching covers the following general topics:

• Our new identity in Christ and its tremendous implications
• Our responsibility and ability to mature as Christians
• The nature of the spiritual battle
• Winning the battle for the mind
• Resisting temptation, accusation and deception

Themes

• Find out what it means to live out your new identity in Christ rather than constantly trying to “act like a Christian”

• Understand how what happened when you became a Christian enables you to walk in freedom from sin and mature more quickly than before

• Gain a clear understanding of the battle you are in and how to win it

• How to resolve completely the negative effects of the past by repenting and submitting to God (James 4:7)

• Identify strongholds and lies you have been believing and adopt a clear strategy for renewing your mind and standing firm in the freedom gained

• See that we already have everything we need to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3)

• Learn how to get out of cycles of sin and hopelessness

• Bring your goals for your life into line with God’s goals for you

Choice Of Formats

The teaching exists in a variety of book formats depending on the age/reading ability of the freedom seeker. There are also resources for teaching children and young people.

For those who do not like reading at all, a series of audiotapes is available.

The best way for most to get hold of the teaching, however, is in a small group context in their own church using The Freedom In Christ Discipleship Course.

Advanced Areas

Freedom In Christ also has teaching in areas such as setting your marriage free, spiritual protection for children, addiction, fear and depression.

For churches there are teaching resources available on setting up a freedom ministry and on resolving corporate sin and conflict.
