Birmingham Christian Centre - Large Pentecostal Church
Birmingham Christian Centre is a large Pentecostal church situated right in the centre of the UK’s second city.

Sheila Hendley, one of the ministers at the church, attended a Freedom In Christ training course specifically looking for a ‘tool’ to set people free. Within a year the church was running regular three day courses, was offering individual freedom appointments as part of its discipleship programme, and was actively involved in helping other local churches adopt the Freedom In Christ approach.

According to Sheila, "It’s been amazing to see how people who had gone round in circles for ages have suddenly been able to go on maturity. And it’s lovely to see new Christians becoming real disciples."
The church has been delighted to discover that, not only have individuals had the tools to find their own freedom in Christ but they have then gone on to help others. Eight people who had completed the basic course came forward to go on the first leaders training workshop and took part subsequently in leading freedom appointments. One of this new team said, "It was incredibly exciting to be present and see God’s liberating power work for others in the same great way I had experienced it some months previously. It has increased my desire to be a part of the team of Freedom in Christ facilitators supporting people as God sets them free." Another reported: "This is such a simple tool. We have seen Jesus work in an amazing way as we allowed Him to do the work through us. Whenever we got stuck we just prayed and He showed us the way through."

A final comment from Sheila which will be music to the ears of any preacher: ‘People now apply the sermons instead of just listening to them.’
