If you are a hurting person
You may be feeling quite hopeless about your own situation; perhaps it feels that others are getting healed but you remain as stuck as ever; perhaps you have tried lots of different approaches and yet nothing appears to work for you. Please let us give you some hope. There is absolutely nothing and nobody who can prevent you from becoming the person God intends you to be, except yourself. Jesus can heal all who come to him, and he turns nobody away.
It is important that you
• begin to really believe what Jesus has done for you
• understand who you are in Him
• believe you are not a "hopeless case"
• know you are loved, sanctified, redeemed and blessed by the God of heaven.
He has made you His child, washed you clean and forgiven your every sin.
It may be, however, that you have believed lies about yourself for a very long time, and you will need some help in "renewing" your mind, and taking on board the truth. Going through the Discipleship Course and having a Freedom Appointment (doing the Steps to Freedom) will help a great deal in identifying your blind spots and understanding how to take hold of the truth.
But none of us are meant to go this alone. That is why God gave us His church. "You alone can do it but you can't do it alone!" Only you can do the work you
have to do. Nobody can believe, repent or forgive for you, but you may need support while you work on those things.
How can FIC help?
The "Walking with the Wounded Team" can help your church to walk with you in your journey toward healing and freedom. They will not counsel or pray with you, but they can speak to you and the team you choose to have around you and they can send your church friends resources and support them as they support you.
If you are interested, we suggest you talk to your church leader or a trusted and stable friend. If you or they contact the Freedom in Christ office you will be sent some information and a form to fill in. It is important that we have the signature of your church leader so that we can be sure you have the best possible support.
If you are not a member of a church at the moment, don't worry, we may be able to put you in touch with a church near you who is using our material. If this is not a viable option and you prefer to work on your stuff alone, we can still send you some helpful information.
This we can be sure of - Jesus wants you to be whole and free. And you can be! Nothing is too hard for him, and we all have "everything we need for life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3). That includes you!
